Auditions
We're excited for you to join us at 1st Street Players! Below is some helpful information to know about our audition process. Audition Sign-ups and Information will be posted to our Social Media (Facebook & Instagram) and Website about a month before the audition dates for each show.
How Auditions Work
Fill Out the Google Form
for the Show You Want to Audition For
Auditionees will fill out a Google Form that gives the production staff some basic information: what role(s) you are interested in, previous experience is, and what potential conflicts you may have. This Google Form will be located under 'More Information' for each show in our current season.
What Else is on the Google Form for You to Know About
The Google Form will include information about the show: the production staff, the rehearsal schedule and show dates. Any important casting information (ie. age requirements, content warnings, etc.) will be included in the form as well. You will also find a link to audition materials in the Google Form. For musicals, auditionees are asked to prepare specific song(s) that have been selected for the character(s) that they are interested in auditioning for.
On Audition Day
Our auditions are run as a “cattle call” audition. This means that you do not sign up for an individual time slot to audition, and should expect to be at auditions for the entire time listed. Your audition day will include the vocal portion of auditions, a dance portion for shows that require dancing, and cold-reading from the script as an acting portion of the audition. Callbacks for shows will be held on a separate day from auditions.
Casting Announcements
We do not announce casting via cast list posting. If you are offered a role after auditioning, you will receive an email from the production team offering you the role. You will have 24 hours to either accept or decline the role via email. Please be aware: you may not discuss casting with others until an official list is posted on our website and social media platforms.
